Cholesterol and wine, or beer

Are wine or beer high in cholesterol?

From: Sue C

No, neither wine nor beer are high in cholesterol, in fact, they do not contain any at all. However, wine and beer affect the liver, where 75% of cholesterol in our blood is produced, because both are alcoholic beverages. Although it has been mentioned that drinking beer in moderation may help lower cholesterol, and there is plenty of literature about the health benefits of wine, surely too much of any alcoholic drink could affect your liver function and make your cholesterol level much worse.

There is no need for a healthy person to ban any of them.  Enjoy wine and beer, but in moderation.
